  • AnnualCreditReport.com - Here is where you go to get a free credit report. You are allowed by law to get one free report per year from each of the three participating credit reporting agencies, and this is the only authorized site for obtaining the reports without charge -- and without any obligation to buy anything else!
  • FakeChecks.org - This informative site, developed by the National Consumers League, is designed to warn and educate consumers about the different types of counterfeit check scams. The site includes videos of possible scams, a quiz to see if you could be faked out, and advice on how to prevent being victimized. Very fun -- and informative too!
  • Federal Trade Commission - Identity Theft - An excellent resource on the subject of identity theft. Advice on how to prevent it, and what you can do if you become a victim. Be sure to check out the free guide entitled: “ID THEFT: When Bad Things Happen To Your Good Name.”
